Цели:   обогатить  знания  детей  о  культуре, традициях  и  обычаях   

             англоговорящих  стран;

             развивать  навыки  говорения, чтения, письма, диалогической  речи;

             развивать  логическое  и  образное  мышление;

             прививать  интерес  к  изучению  английского  языка.             

                               

ВЕДУЩАЯ(Д):Love  L-O-V-E—only  four  letters, but  it  is  a  big  word.

 

ВЕДУЩИЙ(М):Do  you  know  what  day  is  it  today?(обращение  к  залу).

 

ОТВЕТ 1:Yes, the  day, when  boys  and  girls, sweethearts, friends  exchange 

                 greetings.

М:          Do  you  known  the  history  of  this  holiday?

 

ОТВЕТ 2:I  know. In  England  this  festival  is  has  been  celebrated  since  the 

                 15-th  century.  The  old  legend  tells  us  about  a  young  man  named

                 Valentine  who  must  be  executed  by  the  order  of  the  Roman  Em-

                 peror. It  was  269  AD…

     1.Приветствие.Ознакомление  с  темой  и  целью  урока.

 

     -Good  morning  kids! Today  we  are  speaking  about  sports. It  is  the  topic  of 

      our  lesson. We  shall  read  the  text  “Sports  and  games”. We  shall  work  with

      new  words. Use  them  in  oral  speech, in  writing. We  shall  use  the  tests  for 

      working  with  this  topic.

 

    2.Речевая  разминка(беседа)

 

      -And  who  is  on  duty  today?

      -Who  is  absent? (ученики  отвечают)

     -What  kind  of  sports  do  you  know?

     -Look  at  the  pictures…

Sports and Games

         Sport is very popular in our country. Thousands of people go in for sports. Sport makes people strong, healthy and keeps them fit.

         There are many kinds of sports. Many people go in for summer, winter, indoor, outdoor, aerobic sport. The most popular sports and games in our country are track-and-field athletics, football, volleyball, basketball, hockey, gymnastics, skiing, skating, swimming, tennis, chess. Many people are keen an badminton, cycling, walking, fishing, boating, jogging, martial arts, boxing, ski-jumping, figure skating, horse racing, ballooning and others.

         Some people are fond of extreme sports like parachuting, parascending, motor car racing, white water rafting and windsurfing. Windsurfing for example, is a great way to keep fit and many people think it is relaxing too. But it is very expensive – lessons and equipment costs a lot. The beginner has to be courageous. As the beginner has to learn to stand on his boat, a sense of balance is needed.

         Kung fu and karate are martial arts. Kung fu a form of Chinese boxing is very different from Western boxing. The western boxer only uses his fists to fight. The Chinese boxer uses his fists, feet, teeth and nails. The Chinese boxes fights to win.

         There are many stadiums, sport grounds, swimming pools, football fields, tennis courts in every town.

         Running is a very popular kind of sport. Many runners take part in marathon. Marathon is 42 km. 195 meters long. A legendary worrier ran this distance from the town Marathon to Athens to bring the news about the victory over the enemies in 490 B.C.

         In every school pupils spend much time going in for sport. They have the physical training lessons. Then classes are over they may train in different sport schools, clubs and sections. Many pupils of our school are fond of football, basketball, tennis, wrestling, boxing, karate, chess. They like outdoor winter sport to such as skiing, skating, sledging, hockey and others. They take part in many school and city competitions in different kinds of sport and show good results.

         Everybody knows that Olympic games are very popular international sport competitions. Adults and children like to watch Olympic sports events on TV.

         The first Olympic Games took place in the town of Olympia in Greece 2700 ears ago or in 700 B.C. It was a great athletic festival of wrestling, foot-racing, throwing discus and others. One of the winners of the first Olympic Games was Coroebus of Flis, a cook who won the sprint race. The motto of the Olympic Games was Citius, Altius, Fortius which is in Latin for Faster, Higher, Stronger.

         The first modern Olympic Games took place in Athens in 1896. 13 nations sent nearly 300 representatives to take part in 42 events in 10 different sports. There was always a flame at the Olympic Games. It was used in the modern Olympic Games in Amsterdam in 1928. It is lit at Olympia from the raise of the sun. Then it is carried to the games by thousands of runners. It burns in the stadium from start to finish at every Olympics.

         The winners or the champions get gold, silver and bronze medals. The silver and bronze medals are made of silver and bronze, but the gold medals are made of silver covered with gold.

         Ukrainian Olympic Team took part in the Olympic Games as independent team in 1996 and won 22 medals.

         The first Winter Olympic Games took place in 1924. Many Olympic teams from different countries take part in competitions in skiing, skating, ice-hockey, biathlon, bob-sledging and others during the winter Olympic Games.

         The Olympic Games are held every four ears.
